The Cistern is a large, open space full of towering uniform pillars. Light is very, very sparse. A shallow layer of cloudy water coats the floor of the cistern, reeking of disease.
If the color wasn't hint enough, the water found here should never be ingested. On occasion, bloated bodies can be found face down in the water - seemingly having drowned after falling unconscious.
