The physical form that sapient beings, specifically those lacking a physical form in reality, take on within Folded Headroom. Sometimes used as a catchall term for anyone without a real-world body.

quasi-ego - noun.
The consciousness within a husk that makes it animate. May also refer to any huskless being, including humans who have had their bodies stolen.
ex. “Without a quasi-ego, a husk is totally emotionless.”
pulp - noun.
The interior anatomy of a husk, regardless of its specific makeup. Composed of whatever serves as a husk’s flesh and blood.
ex. “Mari Moe’s pulp seems to be made of moss and soil.”
animate - noun/adj.
Term for a husk that contains a quasi-ego.
ex. “Talking and walking around is what makes Lola an animate.”
inanimate - noun/adj.
Term for anything that does not contain a quasi-ego.
ex. “Even though this apple has eyes, it’s actually inanimate.”
organic - adj.
Term to describe any animate that takes an organic form, such as a plant, rock formation, or animal.
ex. “Mr. Liz’s reptilian appearance makes him organic.”
inorganic - adj.
Term to describe any animate that takes an inorganic form, such as a coffee cup, plush toy, or house.
ex. “Dad’s mug head and porcelain husk makes him inorganic.”
corporeality key - noun.
Slang for the quality of a human that allows them to return to their physical body on Earth.
ex. “Dad’s mug head and porcelain husk makes him inorganic.”
corporeal fold - noun.
A point in space where two or more layers of reality overlap, allowing travel between the two layers.
ex. “Corporeal folds are the only way to come and go from reality.”
poach - verb.
The action of an animate stealing a human’s physical form, or otherwise separating any animate’s husk from their quasi-ego.
ex. “Dad is dead-set on poaching the body of anyone with a life he wants.”
